On Monday, Aug. 10 the Monroe School Board: • Learned the district signed a sewer easement allowing the city of Monroe access to its property to work on the downtown Streetscape project. Superintendent Larry Brown said there was an abandoned sewer line running under the Monroe Public Library building, which also houses district offices. The sewer line was so old that the city had no documentation of when it was constructed, but it appeared to be made of brick.
