MONROE - Monroe Clinic Pharmacy has implemented a new, free service called "MedSync," benefiting people who take several different medications each month. A pharmacist works closely with the patient and the insurance company to schedule prescription refills for the same time each month as it best fits the person's schedule.

They currently are providing MedSync services to over 40 people involving 400 prescriptions. The feedback has been positive. The program has been especially helpful to people who are taking care of elderly parents and previously were making three or four trips to the pharmacy every month to. Now many of them only have to stop in every 90 days to pick up all their prescriptions at one time.

The program benefits are:

n Synchronized refills allow for same-day pick up and eliminate extra trips to the pharmacy.

n Auto-refills mean prescriptions don't have to be called in each month.

n The pharmacist will determine if a patient qualifies for a 90-day refill.

n The pharmacist works directly with the provider when refills run out.

Mention the "MedSync" program to the Monroe Clinic pharmacist to sign-up or learn more about this free program. The pharmacy is located on the lobby level of the hospital building, 515 22nd Ave.
