MONROE - On Tuesday, the Monroe Common Council:

• Granted special events requests: the Jordan Lutheran Church outdoor service in the band shelter of Twining Park and the Green County Fair at the fairgrounds.

• Authorized the addition of an outdoor beer garden for Turner Hall of Monroe.

• Approved a license to Jonathan Curl on 21st Avenue in Monroe to keep six chickens on the property.

• Granted a Class A fermented malt beverage license renewal to Santos Tinoco of Veracruz in Monroe.

• Approved a request from the American Legion for a temporary Class B fermented malt beverage license in conjunction with the Green County Fair.

• Listened to an announcement from Alderwoman Brooke Bauman on her attendance alongside City Administrator Phil Rath to the Southwest Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission annual dinner, which highlighted the Monroe Comprehensive Plan as its main project. Bauman said the work motivated the city of Dodgeville to begin to update its own plan.
