MILWAUKEE — Over this past year, Monroe High School student Jayde Kapple decided to get back into the world of pageantry. After taking a six-year break, she applied for the Petite USA Pageant, thinking that it was the prefect opportunity to get back into competing. Not long after, she was selected as a semifinalist for the Wisconsin state title. She filled out yet another application, and the committee awarded her the 2023 Teen Wisconsin Petite Queen title.
This past Aug. 9-12, Kapple competed at the national pageant for Teen Petite USA in Milwaukee. She went into the pageant with confidence and integrity. When she did not win the crown, she congratulated the new Teen Petite USA from South Carolina, as well as the runner up from Alabama.
“The more confidence you have, the easier it becomes,” Kapple said.
Kapple went into the competition not knowing what to expect after her six-year break, but she has used this pageant to grow and to experiment for future pageants that she plans to be a part of. This pageant has helped her set life goals and understand herself better.
“The petite pageant made me open my personal image more. It helped me realize that I’m not just small; I am a petite, powerful young woman that is growing,” Kapple said.
Kapple enjoyed every bit of the pageant, from meeting her sister queens to watching the crowning of the new Petite USA. She also enjoyed helping the other queens get ready for the pageant and watching them on stage.
“Everyone was so nice and welcoming. I also loved watching the finals competition,” Kapple said. “It was amazing watching the new Petite USA Queen get crowned. This pageant was an amazing opportunity, and I can’t wait for what’s coming next.”
Kapple thanked everyone who supported her during her Petite USA journey, including donations and words of well wishes.
Kapple is going into this next year full of ambition and hoping to do another pageant. She has already been looking for pageants for next year and a pageant coach. She is also raising money for her travel fees and wardrobe for next year. Kapple said she cannot wait for what’s coming next.
