MONROE - Kent Kallembach became Monroe's Ninth Ward alderman Wednesday night when he was sworn in by City Clerk Carol Stamm.
The Monroe City Council approved Mayor Ron Marsh's appointment of Kallembach to replace Mike Capesius for the remainder of the term, which expires in April.
The council approved Kallembach as chairman of the Finance and Taxation and the Mary Wuthrich Memorial Fund committees, and as a member of the Claims, Insurance and Salary and Personnel committees, and as an alternate member of the License Committee.
Kallembach also was appointed to the Board of Health.
Kallembach will be the only candidate on the April ballot for the position.
