PECATONICA — Illinois State Police District 16 Commander, Lieutenant Joseph Blanchette, has announced District 16 enforcement figures and activity for the month of Dec.
Illinois State Police District 16 Troopers issued 337 total citations and 428 written warnings during the month of December. Speed violations accounted for 194 citations. Five citations were issued for occupant restraint violations and 14 enforcement documents were issued for distracted driving violations.
Troopers investigated 32 traffic crashes and assisted 142 motorists. Ninety commercial motor vehicle inspections were completed with nine drivers and/or vehicles being placed out of service.
Troopers made two arrests for driving under the influence and eight criminal arrests. Four enforcement documents were issued for Scott’s Law violations. Two school safety checks were performed by troopers.
District 16, which encompasses Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Winnebago, and Boone Counties, investigated no traffic fatalities in December.
