MONROE — The city of Monroe water and wastewater departments are continuing to perform routine maintenance on the collection and distribution system in 2018.
Hydrant flushing and valve turning will be ongoing through Oct. 31.
Customers are reminded that some discoloration may occur in their water and that the water is safe and is not harmful to one’s health. The discoloration is caused by encrusted minerals being flushed from the walls of the mains. The best way to deal with this is to turn on the cold tap and let the water run until it becomes clear.
