This undated photograph shows buildings that no longer exist on the north side of the Square. On the right is a tiny portion of the First National Bank building that was razed in 1956 to build the newer bank. The building in the center houses Hoesly and Grinnell, a grocery store owned by Henry J. Hoesly and Harry Grinnell, and Kundert Hardware Store. Note the utility pole on the Square and where the people positioned themselves to watch the parade.
