Four agencies attended to a two-vehicle crash in Brodhead during the morning hours of Feb. 26. Three people were transported to an area hospital.

BRODHEAD — Brodhead Police responded to a 2-car crash on Sunday that left three people injured.

According to the Brodhead Police Department, the crash happened just after 8:51 a.m. on east 9th avenue at 23rd street in the village.

“The investigation revealed the sedan was northbound on E 9th Ave (CTH T) when a minivan traveling eastbound on 23rd Street failed to stop for the stop sign,” police said in a statement. “The minivan subsequently collided with the sedan.”

Both the occupants of the sedan were transported by ambulance to an unspecified area hospital with injuries characterized by police as “not-life threatening”. A passenger in the minivan was also transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police did not immediately name the 18-year-old Brodhead man who was driving the minivan. But they said he was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign, failing to wear a seatbelt and for not having car insurance.

The crash prompted police to close down the intersection as crews cleared debris and removed the vehicles from intersection.

Brodhead EMS was assisted by Green County EMS and Orfordville EMS at the scene.
