MONROE - Green County Sheriff's Deputies, Albany Police Department, Albany EMS and Albany Fire Department responded to the intersection of Wisconsin 59 at Decatur-Sylvester Road, in the Town of Decatur, for a motor vehicle crash with injuries and partial road blockage at 5:24 p.m. Tuesday.

Pedro Yescas-Vasquex, 48, Brodhead, was stopped in the westbound lane, waiting to turn southbound onto Decatur-Sylvester Road, when a vehicle driven by Robert T. Flanagan, 64, Monroe, stopped behind Yescas-Vasquez, waiting to complete his turn. As they waited, a vehicle driven by Jeremy M. Ripp, 33, Monroe, was westbound on Wis. 59 when he failed to slow and/or stop for the stopped vehicles. Ripp's vehicle hit the rear of Flanagan's vehicle, resulting in severe damage to both vehicles.

Yescas-Vasquez's vehicle was a non-contact vehicle in the collision. Ripp and Flanagan were both the lone vehicle occupants, and received injuries. Flanagan declined medical attention and Ripp was transported by Albany EMS. Ripp was cited for inattentive driving and released.

Due to significant damage, both the Ripp and Flanagan vehicles were towed from the scene.
