BROWNTOWN - William "Bill" George Burwitz age 67 died Monday August 15, 2016 at Monroe Manor after complications from a injury. He was born on July 1, 1949 in Richland Center the son of Quentin and Emily (Caucutt) Burwitz. Bill married Rachel Hayter on August 15, 1970 at the United Methodist Church in Evansville and they enjoyed 46 years together. He taught at Blackhawk Technical College for over 40 years after receiving his teaching degree from UW Platteville and his Masters degree from UW Whitewater. He volunteered as a tax consultant for AARP for several years. He was a member of Peace Church of Christ in Browntown. He was a retired volunteer for the Browntown Fire Department and former Browntown Village Clerk. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and enjoyed reading, studying genealogy and playing cards and board games. He was a very dedicated family man who loved his family and most of all his grandchildren who he was very proud of. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Rachel of Browntown, his daughters; Kalyn (Jeremy) Timmons of Evansville, Kara (Shane) Schulte of Monroe, his grandchildren; Christian and Nathaniel Timmons, Chase and Devan Schulte, a brother; Dr. James (Janet) Burwitz of Appleton, a sister; Betty (Tom) Gall of Sturgeon Bay, a sister in-law; Barbara Baertschi of Monroe, and his special furry friend Pooh. He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew Joshua Burwitz, father and mother in-law Ray and Neva Hayter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday August 25, 2016 at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home Evansville with Reverend Wayne Gregory of Peace Church of Christ Browntown officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Janesville. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday August 24, 2016 at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home Evansville and from 10:00 am until the time of service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Peace Church of Christ Browntown or the American Diabetes Foundation in Bill's name.
