Green County Sheriff

MONROE - One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 7:45 p.m. Monday on Five Corner Road north of Samson Road in Jefferson township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Karen L. Wirth, 48, Monroe, left the road, went up an embankment and rolled. Wirth was extricated from the vehicle by the Juda Fire Department. She was taken to the Monroe Clinic for injuries. She was arrested for driving under the influence, failure to maintain control of a vehicle and possession of marijuana. She was released pending court. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed.

• One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 9 p.m. Monday in the N8500 block of County D in Exeter township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Darrin D. Holcomb, 29, Monticello, failed to negotiate a curve, left the road, hit a culvert and some rocks. Holcomb told deputies he fell asleep while driving. He sustained injuries but declined medical treatment. He was cited for inattentive driving and released pending court. The vehicle received moderate damage.

DARLINGTON - A vehicle driven by Kenneth M. Wilson, 60, Darlington, hit a deer at about 5:15 p.m. Monday on Cub Hollow Road in Gratiot township.
