Green County Sheriff

MONROE - No one was injured in a semi unit motor vehicle accident at about 2 p.m. Thursday on Wisconsin 11, east of County OK. Deputies report David A. Bartelt, 45, Brodhead, was traveling east on Wis. 11 when he lost control of his vehicle during heavy rain and water on the roadway. The semi unit rolled over onto its side. The Freightliner received extensive damage to the passenger side, and the trailer sustained moderate damage on the same side. Bartelt was cited for failure to maintain control. Vehicle was towed from the scene.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - One person was injured in a one-vehicle a accident at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday on Wis. 81 in Darlington township. Deputies report Heather L. Straka, 19, Hazel Green, was eastbound and lost control due to icy road conditions. The vehicle traveled across the roadway and up an embankment. Straka received non-life threatening injuries and was transported by Rural Medical Ambulance to Lafayette Memorial Hospital. The vehicle received minor damages.
