MONROE - No injuries were reported during a two-vehicle crash at 8:24 a.m. Dec. 8 in the 500 block of 8th Street. A vehicle driven by Sara J. Patterson, 40, Monroe, entered 8 th Street from a business drive and collided with a vehicle driven by Tammy S. Gentry, 20, Monroe. There was moderate damage to the vehicles. Patterson was cited for failure to yield right of way while making a left turn and was released pending court. Gentry was cited for driving by a permit holder without an authorized person over 21 years being present and for having no insurance. Gentry was released pending court.
No injuries were reported during a one-vehicle crash at 3:25 a.m. Dec. 9 in the 800 block of Wis. 69. A vehicle driven by Coty K. Knudtson, 21, Juda, collided with a traffic signal pole causing minor vehicle damage, and damage to the pole. Knudtson was cited for driving too fast for conditions and released pending court.

MONROE - On Friday:
Injuries were reported during a two-vehicle crash at 5:20 p.m. in the N6100 block of Wisconsin 69 in the Town of Mount Pleasant. Austin D. N. Diffenderfer, 18, Brodhead, was driving an SUV southbound when he started to slow down to make a left turn onto Wittenwyler Road. His vehicle was then rear ended by a car driven by Sean A. Owen, 42, New Glarus, after he reached for his cell phone that fell and didn't realize Diffenderfer had slowed down. Diffenderfer's vehicle was pushed into the ditch of the intersection where it collided with a traffic sign post and then rolled. Both drivers sustained non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicle sustained severe damage and were towed. Owen will be cited for inattentive driving. Monticello Fire, Monticello Police and Green County Area EMS also responded.
On Saturday:
A hit-and-run crash was reported at 7:30 a.m. in the W8700 block of Wis. 81 at the intersection of Wis. 81 and County M north in Jordan Township. Green County Highway Department reported a damaged utility pole. Sometime overnight an unknown vehicle was traveling south on County M and failed to stop at the stop sign. The vehicle then traveled in a southwest direction across Wis. 81, entered the south ditch and struck the pole. The vehicle then fled the scene without reporting the incident. No paint transfer was located and no vehicle parts were left behind. Due to the steep grade of the embankment, the vehicle would have been towed/pulled from the ditch. Those with more information should contact police.
On Sunday:
Injuries were reported during a one-vehicle rollover crash at 3 a.m. in the W400 block of County E in the Town of Decatur. James D. Beggs, 21, Janesville, was driving southbound on County E from Golf Course Road when he failed to negotiate the curve, entered the south ditch, crossed through a fence and came to rest in the yard of a residence. The truck he was driving overturned about four or five times, sustaining severe overall damage. Beggs then fled from the scene and was picked up by another person. Contact was made later with Beggs at a local hospital. Beggs stated he was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. Citations are pending.

DARLINGTON - On Sunday:
No injuries were reported when James F. Monahan, 75, Benton, struck a deer at 5:30 p.m. on County I, Shullsburg Township. Monahan's Chevrolet Equinox sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

BRODHEAD - On Dec. 7:
Police responded to a hit-and-run crash at 6:19 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. This matter remains under investigation.
New Glarus Police
NEW GLARUS - On Dec. 6:
Injuries were reported during a crash at 4:05 p.m. at Wis. 69 and Industrial Drive. A 2015 Honda Accord was stopped on Wis. 69 to make a left turn onto Industrial Drive. A 2005 Buick Park Avenue operated by Sarah J. Hustad, 28, Stoughton, was southbound when she was distracted by the rear seat passengers in her vehicle. Hustad's vehicle then had a rear-end collision with the Honda Accord. Hustad and two of her passengers were transported by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries. Hustad was issued traffic citations for inattentive driving, no insurance, violation of a child safety restraint, non registration and display unauthorized registration plates. New Glarus EMS and New Glarus Fire assisted.
