MONROE - On Thursday, April 17:
• James A. Bauman, 65, Monroe, was uninjured after his truck hit a mailbox in the N700 block of County P, Town of Jefferson, at 2:20 a.m. Bauman reported he was southbound and fell asleep at the wheel. The truck then crossed both lanes and drove into the east ditch. After entering the ditch the truck hit a mailbox. The truck sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. The owner of the mailbox was notified of the damage.
• Kristin M. Rufenacht, 28, Monticello, was injured in a rollover crash on the N5300 block of Wis. 69, Town of Jefferson, at 3:22 p.m. Rufenacht was northbound when several vehicles in front of her slowed and stopped in front of her vehicle. Rufenacht attempted to stop but the vehicle entered the ditch, overturning. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Deputies, Monroe Fire Department and Monroe EMS responded to the crash.
