MONROE — Monroe Police announced that a convicted sex offender is now living in the area, following his Feb. 1 release from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
In a statement, police said Robert William Allen will be living at 1317 17th Street in the city.
In 2008, Allen was convicted of two counts of sexual abuse of 12- and 16-year-old victims in Stephenson County, Illinois; and in 2011, he was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a child in Green County, police said.
Police said the offender has served his sentence and the notification isn’t intended to cause fear in the community but to raise awareness.
