Ronald S. Roethlisberger, 78, of Freeport, died Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Stephenson Nursing Center. Ronald was born on April 11, 1937, in Gratiot, Wisconsin, the son of Carl and Margaret (Zenter) Roethlisberger. He married Evelyn Hoeper on February 7, 1959, in Darlington, Wisconsin. Ronald was an U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He farmed the Cuba City and Gratiot area and later worked at Kelly-Springfield, retiring after 34 years. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Roethlisberger of Freeport; two sons, Victor Roethlisberger of Freeport and Nicholas Roethlisberger of Aurora; four daughters, Victoria "Vicky" Dose of Freeport, Kathryn "Kate" (William) Boekholder of Freeport, Monica (Kevin) Howland of Colorado Springs, Co., and Heidi (John) Seger of Cape Canaveral, Florida; four sisters, Carol Stietz, Nancy Redington, Linda Roethlisberger, and Rhonda Chitwood. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two step-great grandchildren.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Alice Olson.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Rev. Kenneth Anderson, Pastor, will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service Wednesday at St. Thomas.
