CAPRON, IL - Ronald G. Tinberg, of Capron died Tuesday morning, May 29th 2012 in his home from ALS. Ron was born January 29, 1953 in Elgin, IL the son of George and Ella (Henning) Tinberg. Ron was a graduate of Huntley HS Class of 1971, and Denver Automotive and Diesel College. Ron married Valerie Koehler on December 7, 1974. Ron worked as a Farm Equipment Mechanic and Farmer for 35 years. He was a devoted husband to Valerie and adored their three children, David, Sarah, and Michael. Ron loved serving God and his community. Ron was an active member of Capron Lutheran Church serving as a past Church Council President, teaching Sunday School, and making a "joyful" noise in the choir. He coached all three of his children's Little League Baseball and Softball teams. Ron gave his time to the Boone County Farm Bureau, Boone County 4H Club, and the Boone County Beef Committee. He was a mentor leader for the Boone County 4H Robotics Team, the Flaming Monkeys. He served as a past President of the Boone County Board of Trustees Fire District #1. In 2011 Ron was awarded a Life Time Achievement Award from the Boone County 4H Beef Committee.
Ron is loved and will be deeply missed by his wife, Valerie, and their children David Tinberg, Sarah (Ryan) Smith, and Michael (Robin) Tinberg; four grandchildren Nolan, Mallory, Angela and soon to be born baby Anthony; brother Ted (Jan) Tinberg; sisters Joan (Dave) Auwen, and Nancy (Robert) Werren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Capron Lutheran Church, 155 S. 2nd Street, Capron, IL, with Rev. Dale Johnson, pastor officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 1 at Capron Lutheran Church. Burial at Long Prairie Cemetery, Capron. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Capron Lutheran Church Mission Endowment Fund, Boone County 4H, or the Boone County Fire District #1 in Ron's name.
