BRODHEAD - Robert W. Walder, age 82, of Brodhead, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital, Monroe. He was born on December 4, 1925 in South Wayne, WI, the son of William and Bertha (Rothenbuehler) Walder. He married Verlene Kaderly on February 3, 1952 in Brodhead.
Robert had farmed in the Brodhead area since 1952 and at his home farm in Decatur Township since 1958. He also was a past member of the Wisconsin National Guard.
He is survived by his wife Verlene, Brodhead; two sons, Robert R. Walder, James W. (Amy) Walder, both of Brodhead; a sister, Laura (Eugene) Fink, Freeport, IL; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Mr. Chris Kneubuehl presiding. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
