Robert W. Knox Sr., age 81 of Monroe, died on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on June 7, 1926 in McHenry, IL, the son of Robert Edmond and Edna (Phalin) Knox. He graduated from high school in McHenry, IL. Robert and Norma Hiller were married on January 27, 1951 at St. John's Catholic Church in Johnsburg, IL. Robert and his wife, Norma, farmed in the McHenry, Crystal Lake and Monroe area all of their lives. He was a member of Monroe's St. Victor Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving is his wife, Norma of Monroe; children, Michael Knox of Fort Atkinson, Judy (Kenneth) Stoerp of Huntley, IL, Janet Weidner of Lake Barrington, IL, Theodore Knox of Monroe, Joseph Knox of McHenry, IL, Timothy (Cheryl) Knox of Monroe, Mary (Alan) Hafferkamp of Rockton, IL, James Knox of Monroe, Robert W. (Kelly) Knox Jr. of Monroe, Annette (Chris) Adrian of Rolling Meadows, IL; grandchildren, William, Jordan, Kaytlyn, Lauren, Steven, Morgan, Kristine, Jenny and Ayshia Knox, Nicole (Spencer) Huard, Jamie and James Weidner, Brittany and Blake Hafferkamp, Cassie and Melissa Adrian, James (Jen), David and Jessica Stoerp; great-grandchildren, Chase and Justin Stoerp; sisters, Helen Busch of Spring Grove, IL, Julia (Glenn) Huska of McHenry, IL, Joanne (Wince) Stanek of Spring Grove, IL, Lucille Harris of Norfolk, VA, Eileen (Ron) Mauer of McHenry, IL; brother, Kevin Knox of Iowa; sisters-in-law, MaryAnn Knox of McHenry, IL and Cynthia Knox of Huntley, IL; special friends, Shirley Knox, Carol Knox, Renea Knox, Vern Weidner, Sara Harvel and Peter Morris, and all the Cubs fans, Bulls fans, Bear fans, and his bowling buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Howard; sister, Mary Rossi and a sister in infancy.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 18, at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Dr., Monroe, WI 53566. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at St. Victor Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Monsignor Thomas Campion. Burial will be at a later date at the Windridge Cemetery in Cary, IL.
