Robert J. Vogel, age 84, of Madison formerly of Monroe, died on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Hospice Care Inc. Madison, WI. He was born on April 1, 1927 in Monroe, the son of John and Roselyn (Stark) Vogel. He was a 1944 graduate of Monroe High School. Robert married Delores on June 10, 1951 in Monroe.

He farmed in the Clarno area and later was a semi-driver and city bus driver, he also owned & operated Forward Arms Co. & Capital Clock Shop. Formerly a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Madison, N.R.A., Monroe Rifle Club, National Watch & Clock Assoc. He enjoyed reading, fishing and hunting, and attending auctions; where he never came home empty handed. Robert was very capable at fixing anything, from outboard motors, wind-up clocks, firearms, farm tractors, anything mechanical.

He is survived by his wife Delores, sons, David (Lynn) Vogel; Dean (Kim) Vogel; daughter, Donna Vogel; grandchildren: Travis Vogel, Karin & Mark Rasmussen, Tyler, Ryan, & Alyssa Vogel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Diane Rasmussen, grand-daughter; Sarah Alice Vogel, and sister; Marian Vogel.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 22, 2011 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr. and 18th Ave. in Monroe with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in Robert's name to Clarno United Methodist Church, Springdale Lutheran Church, Mt. Horeb, or Hospice Care Inc.
