Robert A. "Bob" Pittz, age 83 of Argyle, WI, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington, WI, peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born March 26, 1925 in Dodgeville, WI, the son of William and Loretta (Palzkill) Pittz. Bob attended Oak Park School in Mineral Point, WI. He was united in marriage to Marlene J. Flannery on November 7, 1953 at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe, WI. Bob lived and farmed with his wife in the Hollandale area before moving to Argyle in 1961, where they farmed until their retirement.
Bob is survived by his five children: John Pittz, Jim (Pam) Pittz, both of rural Argyle, Jerry (Constance) Pittz of Grafton, WI, Janet (Ron) Sniff of rural Darlington, and Julie (Duane) Garrison of Monticello, WI; three sisters: Dorothy Pittz of Dubuque, IA, Genevieve (Kenneth) Warren and Mary Massie, both of Rockford, IL; one brother: Clem (Marilyn) Pittz of Madison, WI; one brother-in-law: Cecil Clayton of Belmont, WI; one sister-in-law: Jean Pittz of Platteville, WI; nine grandchildren: Tim, Kimberly Sniff, Mitchell, Matthew, Michael Pittz, Cassie, Delaney Pittz, and Jordan, Jessie Garrison; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife on September 24, 2003; two sisters: Helen Pittz and Patty Clayton; four brothers: John, Joseph, Leo Pittz and Paul Pittz in infancy.
Bob was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Argyle. Bob will be remembered for his witty jokes, his great sense of humor, and commitment to his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle with Rev. David Wanish officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Argyle. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2008 at the Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle, where a rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.
