R. Jean Goepfert, 78, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Madison. She was born in Monroe, on June 1, 1939 the daughter of Isaac and Frieda (Pfister) Daehlin. Jean was a 1957 graduate of Juda High School. She was united in marriage to Alvin Goepfert on September 9, 1962 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe.

Jean was employed as a Legal Secretary for the Law Office of Joe Viney and James Beer Law Office. She was also the Register in Probate for Green County. She had been a longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She loved gardening, hummingbirds, taking care of animals, and spending time with her family. She especially loved attending all of her grandson's events.

Jean is survived by her husband, Alvin; children, Daniel (Dee) Goepfert and Donna (Daniel) Fenn both of Monroe; grandson, Nickolas; step-grandchildren, Matthew and Kristine; one step-great-grandchild, Aiden; brother, John (Betty) Daehlin; and a special niece, Michelle Daehlin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and nephew, J. Paul Daehlin.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at St. John's United Church of Christ with Rev. Todd Hackman officiating. Burial will follow service in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Tuesday. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
