DARLINGTON - Justin L. Johnson, 26, Darlington, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance and failing to properly maintain brake lights at 7:01 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, following a traffic stop on Fayette Road. His passenger, Hali S. Smith, 20, South Wayne, was arrested on two warrants issued by the Darlington Police Department. She posted bond and was released.
Monroe Police
MONROE - On Wednesday, Aug. 1:
- Todd A. Miller, 48, Monroe, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct while armed and false imprisonment at 2:32 p.m. in the 1700 block of 9th Avenue. Police made the arrest after investigating a domestic dispute that occurred in the same location Friday, July 27. Miller allegedly intimidated and threatened a 25-year-old woman, not allowing her to leave the residence. He was jailed.
- A 12-year-old Monroe boy was cited for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property in the 1600 block of 13th Avenue after police responded at 6:34 p.m. to a complaint that the boy was out of control. The boy reportedly got into an argument with a parent over junk food and was sent to his room, but climbed out a window and ran down the street with the parent in pursuit. When he was caught and brought back to the house, he allegedly started kicking and breaking things. The case has been referred to the Green County Juvenile Intake.
- A bartender at the French Quarter, 1201 17th Ave., called police at 12:04 a.m. to report a safety concern about a man too drunk to be served. Police located the intoxicated man and took him home.
- A two-wheel scooter was found at 6:31 a.m. near the Monroe Middle School, 1510 13th St. To claim, call dispatch at (608) 329-2400.
- A 49-year-old Woodford man was transported to a detox center in Madison after police responded to a report at 8:21 a.m. that he was lying in a gravel pit along the bicycle trail in the 400 block of 18th Avenue. Police determined the man was incapacitated by alcohol.
- A gas drive-off of $57.43 was reported at 9:04 a.m. at BP, 701 8th St. Police are still investigating.
- Police are investigating a 1:03 p.m. report of a theft by contractor in the 2900 block of 11th Street. A resident is alleging a construction contractor didn't do remodeling repairs, despite being paid.
- Two cats with no apparent owner were found in the 700 block of 27th Avenue at 1:29 p.m. and taken to the Green County Humane Society.
- Police are investigating a case of alleged child abuse reported at 2:08 p.m. by Green County Human Services at Monroe Clinic, 515 22nd Ave.
- Super 8 Motel, 500 6th St., reported at 3:45 p.m., that a guest paid with a check on an account that had insufficient funds. Police referred the case to the district attorney for possible worthless check charges.
- Skateboarders at the band shelter in Twining Park, 400 14th Ave., were warned at 5:15 p.m. that it is a violation of city code to skateboard there.
- An attempted vehicle break-in was reported at 5:43 p.m. in the 100 block of 6th Street. Nothing was taken.
