Orpha "Josie" Fransen, age 92, of Albany, formerly of Monroe, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Valley Park in Albany. She was born on September 22, 1923 in Brodhead, the daughter of A. Lee and Lottie (Green) Phillipps and graduated from Brodhead High School in 1941. She worked at Fairbanks Morse in Beloit after graduation.

Orpha and Clarence Fransen were married on June 19, 1943 at the Apple Grove Parsonage in Blanchardville.

Orpha farmed with her husband in the Argyle area until 1991; they then moved to Monroe.

She was a member of Monroe Bible Church and enjoyed spending time with family.

She is survived by her children: Philip (Sandy) Fransen of Belleville, Nancy (John Jr. "Butch") Stroehr of Albany, Delton (Beth) Fransen of Argyle, Linda Regalia of Stevens Point, Jane (Pete) Steinke of Blue Grass, IA; grandchildren: Eric (Tanya) Fransen, Tricia (Brad) Kittleson, Connie Wunschel, Kim (Marlena) Wunschel, Lee (Mary Wells) Wunschel, Michael (Monica) Fransen, Lisa (Stan Stibbe) Fransen, Tonya Freeberg, Brent (Katie) Regalia; 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, 4 step-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Elton (Jessie) Fransen of Rockford, IL; sister, Margaret Davis of Oakley, WI., very special friend, Patti (Tom) Knautz of Browntown; and several other relatives.

She is predeceased by her parents, brother, Wade (Katie) Phillipps, grandson, Troy Wunschel, and brother-in-law, Clyde Davis.

Funeral services will be Friday, February, 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Monroe Bible Church 2613 8th Avenue, in Monroe, with Pastor Daniel Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 11th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Church.

A memorial fund is being established in Josie's memory.
