MONROE - Two Monroe men made their initial appearances in Green County Circuit Court Monday for drug charges.
Christopher E. Leopold, 36, remains jailed on a $15,000 signature bond and a $5,000 cash bond. Kareem A. Stewart, 26, remains jailed on a $7,500 signature bond and a $500 cash bond.
They were arrested May 1 in Monroe.
Leopold is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, a class E felony, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture marijuana and possession of marijuana, all class I felonies, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, both unclassified misdemeanors.
Leopold was convicted of possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a felon in 2003.
He faces more than 55 years in prison and more than $55,000 in fines, if convicted.
Stewart is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, a class E felony, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession with intent to manufacture marijuana, both class I felonies, and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor.
Stewart was previously convicted of possession/manufacturing of marijuana in Illinois.
He faces more than 38 years in prison and more than $45,000 in fines, if convicted.
Court records allege officers found 51 individual bags of marijuana, two marijuana plants and three small bags of cocaine in their possession May 1 in Monroe.
Leopold's preliminary hearing is May 15. Stewart's preliminary hearing is May 27.
