Margaret Marie Ryser Wyttenbach, age 82 of Monroe, passed away at U.W. Hospital in Madison, on Sunday, March 30, 2008. Margaret was born on November 16, 1925, the daughter of Albert and Nellie (Mueller) Ryser. She married Walter Wyttenbach in 1942, and together they had four children. Early in their marriage, Walter and Margaret farmed in Moscow township. Later, Margaret worked for Dr. Marshall in Hollandale and Dr. Underholtzer in Blanchardville. For 34 years, Margaret worked as an LPN at St. Clair Hospital in Monroe until her retirement in 1982. Margaret was esteemed for her canning, paperthin lefse, and needlepoint work. She loved to play card games, and was an avid coupon clipper and rebater.
Margaret is survived by her son, Ron (Sue) Wyttenbach of Madison; two daughters, Lonna (Reagon Leopold) Wyttenbach and Lisa Haring, both of Monroe; a brother, Werner (Agnes) Ryser of Blanchardville; three grandchildren, Jane (Craig) Rossing of Evansville and Wytney and Noah Schilt of Monroe; step-granddaughter, Krystal Phillips; sisters-in-law, Virginia Ryser and Clara Anderson, both of New Glarus; brother-in-law, John (Darleen) Wyttenbach of Monroe; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Fred Ryser; and a son, Robert Wyttenbach.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. Rev. Pat Soddy will be officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Graceland Cemetery in Blanchardville. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
