MONROE - A Monroe man remains free on a $5,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance for sexual assault charges Wednesday in Green County Circuit Court.
Mario Ezequiel Garcia Zamudio, 22, is charged with second-degree sexual assault and false imprisonment, both are class H felonies. He faces up to 12 years in prison and up to $20,000 in fines, if convicted.
Court records say he fondled a female over and under her clothing and blocked her and grabbed her wrists so she couldn't leave the room March 1 at a Monroe residence.
His preliminary hearing is March 11.
