Monroe Police 

MONROE — No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 3:17 p.m. Feb. 6 on 8th Avenue and 8th Street. Sherril A. Hawkins, 64, Monroe, was stopped at the southbound stop sign on 8th Ave. when she failed to yield the right of way and hit a westbound vehicle on 8th St. operated by Eric S. Scace, 48, Monroe. Both vehicles sustained damage. Scace’s vehicle was towed. Hawkins was cited for failure to yield right of way from stop sign. 

On Feb. 8:

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 3:54 p.m. Feb. 8 on 19th Street and 16th Avenue. Daniel W. Fenn, 70, Monroe, entered the intersection and hit a southbound vehicle operated by a 26-year-old Monroe woman. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Fenn was cited for failure to yield right of way from a stop sign. 

On Feb. 9:

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 7:53 a.m. in the 1100 block of 13 th Avenue. Andrew C. Breuer, 26, Monroe, was backing and hit a vehicle operated by a 39-year-old Monroe woman. Breuer was cited for unsafe backing. 

On Feb. 11:

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 12:22 p.m. on 8th Avenue and 6th Street. Darlene A. Lancaster, 80, Monroe, was southbound on 8th Ave. and hit an eastbound vehicle on 6th St. operated by a 16-year-old Monroe female. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Lancaster was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign.

 

Green County Sheriff 

MONROE — Patricia L. Fox 81, Pecatonica, was transported by Green County EMS for evaluation of non-life threatening injuries sustained from a single-vehicle crash at 1:20 p.m. Feb. 8 on County B and County M, Town of Cadiz. She was southbound on County M when she failed to stop and exited the roadway. She became airborne and entered a field. The vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment. It was towed. Patricia was cited for inattentive driving. 

On Feb. 13:

No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle accident at 7:27 a.m. in the W3500 block of Wis. 11, Town of Sylvester. Victoria M.A. Streuly, 18, Brodhead, was westbound when she lost control of her vehicle and entered the ditch.  

On Feb. 17: 

●  No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle accident at 10:49 a.m. in the N600 block of County T, Town of Spring Grove. Leslie Gillespie, 77, Durand, Illinois, was northbound when she failed to negotiate a curve and entered the ditch. Her vehicle sustained functional damage. It was towed. 

●  Injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 11:52 a.m. on Wis. 11/81 and Wis. 69. Madonna J. Haight, 60, Orangeville, was on the exit ramp waiting to turn south onto Wis. 69. She proceeded and hit a northbound vehicle operated by Marcy L. Potempa, 38, Freeport. Potempa’s passengers, London X. Ishmon, 21, Freeport, and a juvenile sustained injuries and were transported to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment. They were towed. Monroe Rural Fire Department and Green County EMS assisted.


Lafayette County Sheriff 

DARLINGTON — On Feb. 3:

●  Serious injuries were reported from a one-vehicle rollover at 6:21 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. Ted C. Henderson, Jr., 55, Monroe, was southbound when he lost control of his vehicle and exited the roadway. His vehicle rolled over hitting a power pole and came to rest on its side. His vehicle sustained severe damage. It was towed. Argyle Fire Department, Argyle EMS, Green County EMS and UW Med Flight assisted.

On Feb. 4: 

●  Gary L. Bredeson, 67, Blanchardville, reported hitting a deer at 6:56 a.m. on County F, Town of Blanchard. His 2016 Chrysler sustained minor damage. 

●  Heidi A. Thapa, 52, Kronenwetter, reported hitting a deer at 3:49 p.m. on Jericho Road, Town of Belmont. Her 2015 Mazda sustained minor damage. 

On Feb. 6:

●  Troy A. Gartmann, 40, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer at 6:20 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. His 2014 Volkswagen sustained damage. 

On Feb. 7: 

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 12:23 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. Dennis D. Selk, 79, Marion, Iowa, was southbound in a 2019 Freightliner when he was hit from behind by a 2014 Chevrolet operated by Richard T. Vondrum, 39, Lancaster. Selk’s semi exited the roadway and entered the ditch. It sustained minor damage. Vondrum’s vehicle sustained severe damage. It was towed. He was cited for driving after suspension and failure to keep vehicle under control. Belmont Fire and Belmont EMS assisted. 

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 3:01 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont. Lauretta L. Groom, 56, Darlington, was operating a 2015 Chevrolet with a trailer when the trailer hitch detached causing it to hit the truck. The truck sustained minor damage. 

On Feb. 9: 

●  Jennifer A. Seffrood, 45, South Wayne, reported hitting a deer at 6:34 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. Her 2015 Jeep sustained minor damage. 

●  Colin A. Rear, 21, Argyle, reported hitting a deer at 7:10 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. His 2014 Chevrolet sustained minor damage. 

●  Elizabeth E. Jorgenson, 65, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 6:07 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. Her 2013 Ford sustained minor damage.

On Feb. 10: Minor injuries were reported from a one-vehicle rollover at 10:04 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. Cameron R. Osborn, 18, Madison, was southbound when he lost control of his vehicle due to slippery road conditions. His 2015 Chevrolet sustained severe damage. It was towed. Platteville Fire Department, Southwest EMS and Grant County Sheriff’s Office assisted.

On Feb. 11:

●  Tatum R. Baumgartner, 17, South Wayne, reported hitting a deer at 7:58 p.m. on Jennings Road, Town of Wiota. The vehicle sustained moderate damage.

On Feb. 13:

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 1:57 a.m. on County G, Town of Fayette. Heath E. Bear, 19, Juda, was eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. He entered a ditch causing his vehicle to roll onto its side. His vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed. Bear as cited for failure to keep vehicle under control.

On Feb. 14:

●  No injuries were reported from a vehicle vs. house accident at 8:02 a.m. on North Charity Street in Shullsburg. Kyle R. Klotz, 20, Shullsburg, started his vehicle and then it came out of gear hitting a house. His vehicle sustained moderate damage. It was towed. Shullsburg Fire, Shullsburg EMS and Shullsburg police assisted. 

On Feb. 15: 

●  Alexis J. Graber, 20, Blanchardville, reported hitting a deer at 6:36 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Blanchard. The vehicle sustained minor damage. 

●  Kimberly S. Delzer, 52, Argyle, reported hitting a deer at 6:13 p.m. on Spore Road, Town of Argyle. The vehicle sustained minor damage. 

●  Casey L. Lobdell, 25, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 7:44 p.m. on County F, Town of Darlington. The vehicle sustained minor damage.
