A warrant is issued for his arrest after he failed to appear for his initial appearance in court May 29. The case stems from an incident June 15, 2017. According to court records, police located Genskay at a nearby gas station after responding to a report of an intoxicated male walking around a park in Brodhead. An officer observed Genskay hit a pole with his 2010 Dodge Ram as he parked at the gas station. Genskay had bloodshot, glassy eyes and smelled of alcohol. He failed field sobriety tests and told the officer he was “stupid” to drive because he only lived a few blocks away.

n Kyle Edwin Gille, 22, Darlington, signed a $1,000 signature bond May 29 on four Class H felony counts of forgery. His codefendants, Randy Gene Joslin, 33, Shullsburg, and Chad M. Schmitt, 23, Dubuque, Iowa, face similar charges in cases that are also pending. Court records indicate the three men conspired to create and use counterfeit bills. Gille reportedly used a counterfeit $20 bill to purchase a meal at McDonald’s in Darlington and another counterfeit $20 bill to buy cigarettes at the Darlington Mini Mart in December 2017. Gille and Schmitt also reportedly paid for a Safe Ride using a counterfeit $20 after they ran out of gas. Joslin told police Gille uses the fake money to buy meth from drug dealers in Dubuque. Police seized three of the counterfeit bills during a search of Joslin’s hotel room in Darlington. Police did not locate a machine to manufacture counterfeit currency. All three defendants are due back in court this month.
