John K. Schiller, 67 of Monroe, Wisconsin, passed away on August 1st, 2013 after a lengthy battle with Huntington's Disease.
John was born on May 1st, 1946 in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Victor and Lillian (Schmitz) Schiller. He attended Monroe High School and was employed by Swiss Colony Bakery, Advance Transformer and the Orangeville, Illinois School District.
He married Mary K. Warren on May 14th, 1965 in Monroe, Wisconsin with the Reverend Raymond Warren officiating. John enjoyed motorcycles, hunting and fishing, camping and searching for treasures with his metal detector. John was an avid outdoor enthusiast, spending time sailing, hiking at Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area, riding his bicycle on the Sugar River State Trail and hang-gliding at Warren Dunes in Michigan.
John is survived by his wife Mary Schiller of Neenah, Wisconsin and his two daughters, Pam (Keene) Fuller of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Lori (Chris) Jones of Neenah, Wisconsin. Grandchildren are Jonathon (Liz) Fuller of Ankeny, Iowa; Amanda and Emily Fuller of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Logan, Aidan and Aly Jones of Neenah, Wisconsin. John is also survived by his brother Douglas (Marla) Schiller of Rockford, Illinois. John was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Lillian Schiller and his in-laws, Rev. Raymond and Amy Warren of Monroe, Wisconsin.
The family would like to thank Sira Nsibirwa and staff at Abilities, Inc. in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin for their care of John during the last six years of his life and most recently Rainbow Hospice Services of Jefferson, Wisconsin for their comfort at the time of his death.
Please join the family for a gathering to celebrate John's life on Sunday, August 11th at Monroe Bible Church, 2613 8th Avenue, Monroe, Wisconsin. Visitation is from 4:00-6:00 PM with a meal and a short memorial service officiated by the Rev. Duane McDonough to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials received will be divided between a charitable donation to Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area given in John's memory and the Huntington's Disease Society of America, Wisconsin Chapter (WI-HDSA).
