Gerald "Jerry" Gentz

Gerald "Jerry" Gentz, also known as Big Jer, age 72 of Monroe, died Sunday, April 29, 2018 at his home. He was born of August 1, 1945 the son of Dilton and Eunice (Laverty) Gentz. He graduated from Highland High School in Highland, WI. Gerald was married to Sarah Williams and they had a daughter Jennifer. He was an electrician and owned and operated Gentz Electric since 1986. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, lodge # 754, formerly a member of the Monroe Fire Department. Gerald enjoyed watching car races, the Packers, the Badgers, and the Monroe Cheesemakers.

He is survived by his long-time companion and care giver, Carol Dittmer and her family; a brother, Dan (Sue) Gentz of Marietta, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew, Jeff Gentz.

A Celebration of Gerald's life will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at GENTZ ELECTRIC at 406 West 10 1/2 Street. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given in Gerald's name to the Monroe Clinic Hospice. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
