Geneva A. Griffin

WINSLOW, Ill. - Geneva A. Griffin, 94, currently of Monroe, WI, died February 10, 2010, at the Monroe Hospital. One of seven children, she was born on October 20, 1915, in Pearl City, IL to Paul and Harriet(Fye) Schnell. She married Harold Griffin on October 21, 1936.

Geneva worked at Burgess Battery in Freeport, IL and also farmed with her husband, Harold, near Lena, IL. She lived many years in Winslow, IL where she was a member of the Winslow Grace Bible Church. Geneva was an avid gardener and enjoyed taking walks. She loved flowers; especially the iris, gladiola, fuchsia and pansy. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and canning produce from her garden. Most recently she resided at Harbor House in Monroe. She is best remembered for her pleasant disposition and always greeting visitors with a smile.

Mrs. Griffin is survived by her daughter, Gloria Williams (Dale), Monroe, WI, her son, Milo Griffin (Marietta), Tarpon Springs, FL, seven grandchildren, four foster grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Evelyn Paul, Freeport, IL, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Griffin, two sisters, Mae Risen and Dorothy Volkers and three brothers, Ellis, Emerson(Pete), Vernon Schnell, and her foster daughter, Vikki Price.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Leamon Funeral Home, Lena, IL.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. till the time of service on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena

Burial is in the Lena Burial Park.
