JANESVILLE - Eugene F. Snyder, age 88, of Monroe, died on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Azura Memory Care, Monroe. He was born in Rock County on Feb. 10, 1927, the son of John J. and Mame (Sterns) Snyder. He served in the Merchant Marines and married Rossa Topham on Aug. 31, 1950, in Janesville. She preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 2000. Eugene belonged to the Steamfitter Union Local #214. He married Therese Aebly on Oct. 8, 2000. Eugene loved to dance, and boating.

He is survived by his wife, Therese Snyder; 2 children, Pamela Burr and Alan "Skip" (Diana) Snyder both of Janesville; 6 grandchildren: Chad (Rachel) Snyder, Cory (Amanda) Snyder, Seth (Karla) Snyder, Rhiannon (Chris) Burr, Michelle Burr and Matthew (Becca) Burr: 5 great grandchildren: Seva, Jadon, Max, Jack and Cole; 2 step children, Thomas (Cindy) Aebly of Monroe, and Michael (Sandy) Aebly of Madison; 4 step grandchildren: Amanda (Jim) DeSonia, Elizabeth (Kevin) Aebly, Aaron (Melissa) Aebly, and Andy (Angela) Aebly; 5 step great grandchildren: Maren, Violet, Henry, Otto, and Iris; many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Rossa.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY with Rev. Larry Bakke presiding. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 4, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME, 1800 E. Racine St., Janesville. A Memorial fund will be established.
