Gratiot, WI - Esther A. Griffiths left us on April 10, 2012. Esther was born on February 1, 1931 to Walter and Clara Zuberbuhler. She was married on June 3, 1954 to Cecil L. Griffiths. Esther loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a Yankees baseball fan, but even a bigger Green Bay Packer fan.
She is survived by her children; Jon (Tammy) Griffiths, Terri Bird, both of Gratiot, WI, and Lisa (Wes) Foesch of Argyle, WI, grandchildren; Alex Bird of Gratiot, WI, Caitlin Bird of Fort Riley, KS, Griffin and Larkin Foesch, both of Argyle, WI. Also surviving is a brother Eddie (Elaine) Zuberbuhler, sisters-in-law; Marie Zuberbuhler and Mary Kaye (Harry) Scace, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil, her parents, her mother and father-in-law Ray and Hazel Griffiths, two brothers; Clarence and LaVerne Zuberbuhler, a sister Alice Hawkinson, a brother-in-law Jack Griffiths, a sister-in-law Marlene Griffiths, and a nephew Gary Hawkinson.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11:00 pm at the Evangelical Free Church of Gratiot in Gratiot, Wisconsin.
Officiating will be Pastor Glenn Andes.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren, Illinois and also one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at Gratiot Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her name.
