DARLINGTON - Dorothy "Dot" Ward, age 85 of Darlington, WI, died on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Lafayette County Manor in Darlington, WI. She was born on December 7, 1924 in Darlington, WI to John and Minna (Gunner) Deery. On May 26, 1947, she married Robert W. Ward. Bob preceded her in death on April 2, 2003. Dot and Bob farmed in Madison, Mt. Horeb, and Darlington until 1970. In 1976, they opened the 1st Ward Inn in Darlington and retired 18 years later.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at HOLY ROSARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 104 E. Harriet Street, Darlington, WI, with Fr. Randy Budnar officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am-10:50 am on Saturday prior to the funeral at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
