Dean F. Olson
Dean F. Olson, age 57 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died Friday, September 5, 2008 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born April 8, 1951 in Benson, MN, the son of Carl W. and Mary (Casper) Olson and went to high school in Darlington and Monroe, WI. He was employed by the Swiss Colony of Monroe for over 40 years. He enjoyed and took great pride in his job and was excellent with computers. He also liked to watch football and the History channel. He was loved and respected by his co-workers at the Swiss Colony. He will be deeply missed by his family.
Dean is survived by his mother, Mary Kraus of Monroe, WI; sisters, Phyllis (Fred) Wenger of Davis, IL and Sandra Marshall of Monroe, WI; 2 special step-daughters, Julie Krue and Tammy (Russell) Cobb of Phoenix, AZ; special niece, Mary (Shawn) Oller; special friend, Kathy Davidson of Monroe; and his many co-workers at the Swiss Colony. He was predeceased by his father, Carl W. Olson; brothers, Roger and Loren Olson; and by his step-father, Orlo H. Kraus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at St. VICTOR CATHOLIC CHURCH in Monroe with Fr. Michael E. Klarer Celebrating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue in Monroe.
A memorial fund is being established in Dean's memory.
