FT. MYERS, FL/BRODHEAD/MONROE - Dale Eugene Schultz, 57, of Ft. Myers, FL, formerly of the Brodhead/Monroe area, was killed in a tragic accident in Florida on January 27, 2016. Dale was born in Monroe, WI, on October 16, 1958, the son of Everette and Doris (Buehler) Schultz.
Dale graduated from Brodhead High School in 1977 and also from UW-Platteville. He spent two years in the U.S. Marine Corp. and then moved to Florida where he was employed by K-Mart. He was active in VFW Post 274 of Ft. Myer, FL. Dale loved all sports - especially football and golf, and shooting pool.
Dale is survived by his parents, Everette and Doris Schultz, Brodhead; two brothers, Randy, Beloit, Kevin, Brodhead; a sister, Teri (Bill) Scheidegger, Brodhead; stepchildren, Neil and Eric Gutzmer, Michelle (Frank) Bissaillon, all of Monroe; four step-grandchildren, Ian Rothenbach, Tyler Pandow, Zachary Ringle, Logan Bissaillon; two daughters, Kasandra and Allison; special friends David and Nancy Walton, of Ft. Myers, FL; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Janet (Gutzmer) Schultz and stepson Aaron Gutzmer.
A private family service will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Rev. Richard Thickpenny officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
