Misdemeanors

• Cameron Ronald Bader, 24, Monroe, pleaded no contest Monday, Dec. 3, to a charge of misdemeanor bail jumping and was fined $300 plus court costs. The charge stems from a traffic arrest in Monroe on the evening of May 12, when an officer found that Bader was racing another vehicle on Wisconsin 69 and driving after drinking at least a six-pack of Coors and some homemade wine, in violation of a bond condition on a previous charge. Bader also pleaded no contest to a related misdemeanor charge of driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol level (0.178 percent). He is sentenced to 90 days in jail. His license is revoked 27 months. He owes the court a total of $1,620.

• Chandra Lynn Pease, 36, Janesville, pleaded no contest Tuesday, Dec. 4, to forfeiture charges of disorderly conduct and unreasonable and imprudent speeding. She is fined $661. Misdemeanor charges of battery and driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration were dismissed after her husband Chad Pease, 36, also of Janesville, wrote a letter to the court confessing he had lied to officers about the incident that led to the criminal charges against her. He had initially accused her of driving drunk and of punching him during an argument in July in the Town of Spring Grove. In fact, he admitted, his injuries that day were from belly-flopping into a shallow part of the Sugar River. "My actions that day were caused by poor decision-making and my drinking," he wrote. "I am sorry for wasting everyone's time."
