DARLINGTON/NORWALK, Calif. - Carol Holden, age 89 of Norwalk, California and formerly of Darlington, WI died on Friday, April 25, 2008 in Norwalk, California.
She was born May 30, 1918 in Darlington, WI to William and Mabel (Paulson) Nevels.
She married Jackson F. Holden on December 6, 1975. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1989.
She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Darlington prior to moving to California to be closer to her children.
Survivors include her son: William Donovan, and her daughter: Lynn (Robert) Phinney both of California, 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Lola Rielly of Darlington, Shirley Nielsen of Shullsburg; a brother, Clinton Nevels also of Shullsburg; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jackson Holden; a son, Daniel Donovan; a grandson, Kevin Donovan; two sisters, Donna Reichling and Ruth Deppe; seven brothers, Roscoe, Victor, Willard, George, Gary, Edward and Donald Nevels.
Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Union Grove Cemetery with Pastor Nate Whiteside of the First Baptist Church, 15691 County Hwy. K, Darlington, WI, officiating.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Steil Camacho Funeral Home, 206 E. Harriet Street, Darlington, WI.
