MONROE - A Brodhead man involved in a two-vehicle accident remains free after making his initial appearance in Green County Circuit Court Friday.

Jason L. Elsner, 26, is charged with hit and run causing great bodily harm, a class E felony; injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle, a class F felony; reckless driving, a class I felony; obstructing an officer, a class A misdemeanor; and possession of marijuana, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faces more than 31 years in prison and more than $95,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $10,000 signature bond and a $4,000 cash bond.

His preliminary hearing is Sept. 3.

Court records allege Elsner was driving a vehicle Aug. 6 that hit a vehicle driven by Jo Ann K. Arn, 54, Brodhead, as Arn's vehicle was eastbound on County OK approaching County F.

Elsner left the scene of the accident. His vehicle was later identified by debris at the crash site and by a license plate at the scene.

Arn was flown from the scene via Med-Flight to University of Wisconsin Hospital. Court records report that she sustained lacerations to her liver and other serious injuries.
