On March 20:

● At 3:26 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of West 8th Street and 6th Avenue West for a motor vehicle accident with no reported injuries. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Charlotte A. Hartwig, 77, of Monroe, traveling north on 6th Avenue West, stopped at West 8th Street and proceeded north. A second vehicle, operated by Madison P. Marek,  23, of Freeport, IL, traveling south on 6th Avenue West, stopped at West 8th Street, then proceeded to turn east on West 8th Street, colliding with the first vehicle. Both vehicles sustained minor damages and were drivable. During the investigation, officers discovered marijuana in the Marek vehicle, and Marek was cited for possession of tetrahydrocannabinols (THC) and released pending a court appearance.

● At 3:45 p.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with no reported injuries at 21st Street and 11th Avenue. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Ambralee S. Aguilar, 43, of Monroe, was westbound on 21st Street and rear-ended a second westbound vehicle on 21st Street, operated by Carrie A. Hartman, 46, of Monroe. Both vehicles sustained minor damages and were drivable. Aguilar was cited for following too closely and released pending a court appearance.
