A wall cloud produced a tornado warning over central Green County on April 27.
The severe storm cell dropped quarter-sized hail (1-inch in diameter) over Monticello, but no confirmed tornadoes touched down. The storm was one of several that hit the central United States over the weekend, spawning more than 83 reported tornadoes across Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas according to the National Weather Service. On April 26, at least 17 tornadoes touched down in Iowa, leaving at least one man dead. The local severe weather threat is taking a break this week, however, with a chance for showers Tuesday and Thursday nights. High temperatures are also forecasted to be in the 60s and 70s all week, while lows will be in the 50s.
