Peggy L. Rote, age 56, of Monroe passed away after a short battle with leukemia on April 25, 2024 at the SSM Health Hospice Home.  She was born on March 22, 1968 the daughter of Richard “Dick” and Grace “Penny” (Schumacher) Rote.  She graduated from Orangeville High School.  Peggy went on to receive her Teaching Degree from UW Wisconsin.

Peggy worked at Newell Rubbermaid in Freeport for 32 years, where she was the manager of Accounts Receivable.  She enjoyed traveling, she took several trips with her parents and for work.  Her favorite destination she traveled to was Arcadia National Park.  Peggy took great pride in her garden growing fruits, vegetables, and tending to her flowers.  She also lovingly cared for her parents for several years in their later years.    

Peggy is survived by her loyal companions, her cats; brothers, Richard (Pam) Rote of Davis, IL, Randall (Lorinda) Rote of Durand, IL, Ralph “Toby” (Jean) Rote of Janesville and Royce (Cindy) Rote of Fort Worth, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating.  Burial will follow at Dakota Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Green County Humane Society.

A visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
