HARTLAND — The Cheesemakers lost 10-5 at Hartland Arrowhead Dec. 7.
The Warhawks took a 4-2 lead after the first period and extended it to 7-4 through two periods.
Arrowhead led by as much as three goals in the first period at 4-1, but the Cheesemakers brought it back to within two goals with 36 seconds left in the opening period thanks to a Brody Koehn unassisted power-play goal.
Koehn then assisted Brady Stuart for the first goal of the second, bringing Monroe back to within one at 4-3. However, the Warhawks scored the next three to put Monroe in a 4-goal deficit the Cheesemakers couldn’t pull out of.
Patrick Alt had two goals for Monroe, while Brody Goode had two assists. Koehn had three points, with two assists and a goal. Stuart had a goal and an assist, and Brady Spotts added a goal for Monroe. Brock Brandli saved 41 of 51 shots in 51 minutes in net.
Arrowhead’s Jack McKenna couldn’t be tamed, recording six goals himself. Louie Monson had two goals and an assist. Finn Myers had four points (1G, 3A). Landon Kesy Haren had four assists, and Elijah Finke added a goal and two assists. Jack Adair stopped 36 of 41 shots on net by Monroe skaters.
