Monroe Fire

MONROE — A two-car garage on fire in the 2000 block of 15th Avenue was reported at about 4:10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14. The garage was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived, with power lines dropping. The cause of the fire remained undetermined. The fire caused substantial damage to the garage and a nearby playhouse. It also melted the siding and caused other heat damage to two nearby houses. No injuries were reported.

●  A tractor mower fire on Carnie Road was reported at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17. A woman was mowing tall grass in her yard when she believed grass got into the mower engine and caught on fire. The mower was totaled. No injuries were reported.

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, Sept. 12:

●  South Wayne First Response and Green County EMS responded at 1:54 a.m. to East South Street in South Wayne. A deputy assisted on scene.

●  Blanchardville EMS responded at 11:20 a.m. to Maple Street in Blanchardville for a lift assist. Blanchardville police assisted on scene.

●  A machine shed on fire was reported at 4:12 p.m. on County F, Town of Willow Springs. The Darlington Fire Department responded. Fire departments from Blanchardville and Mineral Point assisted on scene, as did Green County EMS of Darlington and deputies.

On Saturday, Sept. 14:

●  A residential structure fire was reported at 5:06 a.m. at 16918 County W, Town of Monticello. The Apple River Fire Department, Shullsburg EMS and deputies responded. It was determined to be a minor electrical fire in the basement. The male resident was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. The residence sustained minor damage.

●  Shullsburg EMS responded at 10:08 a.m. to Front Street in Benton. Benton First Response assisted on scene.

●  Gratiot First Response responded at 6:44 p.m. to Riverside Road, Town of Gratiot. Green County EMS of Darlington and Darlington police assisted.

On Sunday, Sept. 15:

●  Shullsburg EMS responded at 12:46 a.m. to West Water Street in Shullsburg. A deputy assisted on scene.

●  Green County EMS of Darlington responded at 4:25 p.m. to Fayette Road in Darlington. A deputy and Darlington police assisted.
