MADISON - At its July 1 meeting, the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands approved two state trust fund loans totaling $566,503 to the city of Brodhead to finance road construction and refinance existing debt.

Loans include the refinance BCPL loan 2011165 for $216,503.44 and the finance road construction for $350,000

With income generated by State Trust Fund Loans, and not a single taxpayer dollar, the BCPL provides all of the state's financial aid to public elementary, middle and high school libraries. State Trust Fund Loan monies come from the principal of the state's Common School Fund, which is enhanced by revenues generated by fees, fines, forfeitures, unclaimed property and timber sales.
