ARGYLE - On at 8:22 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communication Center received a 911 call and was notified of a body floating in the Pecatonica River near the boat dock on West Milwaukee Street in the Village of Argyle, according to a press release from Lafayette County Sheriff Reg Gill. 

First responding units recovered the body of John Michael Flanagan, (80), of Argyle. It was determined that no foul play was suspected in this incident.

Lafayette County Deputies, Argyle Fire Department and Argyle EMS were dispatched. Detectives from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office responded and assisted with the investigation as well as the Argyle Police Department and Lafayette County Coroner’s Office.
