MONROE — Green County residents are invited to a free Community Baby Shower from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 22 at the Green County Family YMCA, 1307 2nd St., Monroe.
This event is for those that are expecting or have a baby. Come enjoy refreshments, fun activities, prizes, and get connected with helpful community resources. There will even be free childcare at the event. Lactation spaces will also be available.
Expectant or new parents at the event can also enter a free raffle to win baby gear. Prizes include items such as a wagon stroller, a car seat, a high chair, cases of diapers, and more.
There will be short, helpful walk-in classes and activities held throughout the event:
● Breastfeeding (11:30 a.m.): Learn helpful tips and tricks for breastfeeding.
● Car Seat Safety (12 p.m.): Get peace of mind by learning some tips on how to properly install a car seat.
● BINGO (12:30 p.m.): Take a break, and have some fun
There will be free baby bags for the first 48 families to RSVP.
Anyone can walk in, and they do not have to RSVP ahead of time to attend the shower. However, the first 48 families who RSVP before the event will get a free, reusable baby bag packed full of essential everyday supplies for both parents and baby, like diapers, wipes, and other necessities.

This event is organized by several local groups looking out for the community’s newest families, including Green County Public Health, Green County Human Services, SSM Health Monroe, Brodhead Memorial Public Library, and Forward Service Corporation, and is funded by the Kiwanis Club of Monroe.
