Veterinarian technician at the Green County Humane Society Janean Boss-Anderson talks about her best friends Alf, a pointer, and Balto, a husky, both about 7 years old.

Boss-Anderson knew she wanted a dog as soon as she and her husband, Anthony, got a place of their own, mostly because she had always grown up with one. When they went to the Green County Humane Society to look for a dog, she wanted a husky, but fell in love with Alf instead. A year later, the couple brought home Balto, also from the GCHS.

Describe Alf and Balto's personalities.

Alf is very energetic. He's a cuddler. He has no personal boundaries, but he's a very sweet boy and he's playful. Balto is more laid back. He loves his belly rubs. They are definitely his thing. He loves to give kisses, and he loves his little brother (Boss-Anderson's 11-month-old son, Easton.)

What do you like to do together?

They like to play tug-of-war. They also like to go outside and watch the birds and go on walks. Alf is definitely a super big cuddler. Everyday he'll curl up on the couch and watch TV with either my husband or me.

What has it been like having them in your life?

It has been very fulfilling. It's great to just get to come home at the end of a long and stressful day and just relax with them.
